Clockwise vs Counter Clockwise I have come to believe there may be something to this phenomenon known as “dealer signature”. A few months ago I dismissed this as wishful thinking.
While in Church (to avoid the vivid images of Hell and the roulette players imprisoned there), I sometimes drift away in thought. Here’s where I went……
Suppose 0 was a direction called North. Going clockwise ninety degrees we find the number 34 which we call East. Let us assume the dealer spun the wheel counter clockwise after having picked up the ball from 0/North. Let us assume it rotated a certain number of times while the wheel head spun a certain number of times and came to rest on 34/East. Now the dealer picks up the ball from 34/East and spins the wheel clockwise, releasing the ball.
Consider the following scenarios on the second spin:
IF the dealer spins clockwise at the exact same speed while the wheel head moves at exactly the same speed and the ball bounces exactly the same, it would move clockwise another ninety degrees and land on 10/South. In other words, the ball will move forward the exact number of pockets.
NOW……
IF the dealer spins counterclockwise, and all things being the same, would the ball not move backward ninety degrees and land back on 0?
Let us have a very predictable dealer, maybe Maltezan, who ALWAYS spins in such a manner that his ball lands ninety degrees from where he released it. Does anyone but me see that it makes a WHALE of difference which way the wheel is spinning? OR am I full of Oklahoma wind? (Please, clothdog, hold it in! I’m workin’ here.)
So is a study in order of a single 0 wheel with the clockwise and counter clockwise spins listed and studied separately?
I’d love some comment one way or the other.

Hi Sam,
Lol " very predictable dealer " ....
Have tried it my friend.......
When we were training I tried to hit sector of 18 numbers....my starting point was always zero... I tried to spin the wheel at the same strength of about a couple of spins....and of course the ball with the same number of spins about 6-9....
To you guys are forgeting that even if I throw a ball just a very tiny bit stronger that it would be already on the other side of the wheel....I was trying to do this for about 3 months....( LoL, am still trying :D , got nothing else to do 8) ).....
I don't know Sam, maybe you are right, but I couldn't hit sector like you said, if my life depended on it... :D :D :D

If I understand you correctly, you are saying there is no such thing as dealer signature. Or at least that you know of and you as a dealer could not develop one. See, we have two very different points of view in the roulette world and I'm just trying to figure it all out.

Hi Sam,
Before I was a dealer, I belived in dealer signatures.....
I still belive in it...to some extent.....but the more I try to hit sector or not to hit sectors the more random results I get....
But like I said I'm still a newbie at spinning the wheel...

Sam,
C'mon you know a little physics, enough to know that the speed , angle of launch, and starting point only have to be off a fraction to make the ball miss the mark. Plus, it is random how the ball hits the dividers between pockets and bounces, so how can a dealer have a signiture ? It's only luck !! That's why so called 'trends', change all the time and you cannot know when they will change. The best a dealer could hit with accuracy would be about a 12 number sector and even then , he will miss sometimes. Roulette is luck, play it that way, and play the trends as luck as well. That's why this grand old game has not been mastered, and many experts and professionals have tried. Win what you can but most important, control your losses, there will be some, we all know that !
my humble opinion,
hammy.

Thanks for that input; it's what I'm seeking. And I totally agree with you. In fact, I have presented the same argument.
Still I wonder! When I see sectors hit with such frequency, I can't help but wonder if it's all just coincidence.
Who is wrong; who is right? If a body knew the absolute truth, who would believe him? Assuming there is an absolute truth....

"Parallel universes"
- Opinion varies from dealer to dealer. :)
I.e. a dealer convinced he can hit a sector, tries to and by wild ass luck hits, he is convinced he can...
Also, it depends on how many mandatory spins there are in place at that particular casino. i.e. Some online casinos demand only 3 spins. Some land-based 6... it varies and the more spins demanded, the harder for "able" dealers the pull the "feat".
